Tino Sehgal

Tino Sehgal was Visiting Professor at the Graduate School for the Arts and Sciences at Berlin University of the Arts until the end of January 2012. During his stay at the Graduate School Sehgal has worked with the Graduate School’s fellows. In January 2012, he gave a workshop open to all students of Berlin University of the Arts.

Tino Sehgal is one of the most renowned contemporary artists. In 2005, he designed the German pavilion at the 51st Venice Biennial together with Thomas Scheibitz. In 2010, his work “This Progress” was shown at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.

Sehgal’s work is about social processes and conventions, and takes up questions about the production and reception of art. According to the artist’s wish, there are no photographic or filmic documentations of his work.
