After being trained as a technical assistant for design in the area of graphic design in Dresden, Johanna Heyne studied for a bachelor’s degree in art history and theater studies at the Freie Universität Berlin and the Università degli Studie di Firenze from 2010–2014. In October 2014, she studied for a master’s degree in art history and visual history at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She has been a research student in the Research Training Group “Knowledge in the Arts” since October 2015 until March 2019.
