Updated on 05 June 2023

The German-American Fulbright program supports the promotion of mutual understanding between the two countries at the level of academic and cultural exchange.

The scholarships aim to deepen the academic studies at accredited American universities on the level of graduate studies (Master / PhD). The funding relates to study projects lasting four to nine months. Selection criteria are, in addition to good professional achievements, social commitment and the potential to work for transatlantic relations.

Master's students and Bachelor's graduates from universities and art colleges who would like to study for one to two semesters as a graduate student at a US university in the academic year 2024-25 can apply for a Fulbright Scholarship until 8 September 2023 (23:59:59). The scholarship supports the study stay in the USA with up to $ 34,500. You can find out more about the application requirements and the application procedure here (in German only).

If you have any queries about the scholarship programme, you can contact studienstipendien_ @fulbright.de. On 20 July 2023 at 4:30pm, Fulbright Germany will be offering a virtual info session where you can ask any questions you may have about the study scholarship and get practical tips on applying to a US university. Please register here.

Dates for info sessions with Fulbright Network universities in the USA will be published gradually on the Fulbright Germany website at www.fulbright.de.
