The German-American Fulbright program supports the promotion of mutual understanding between the two countries at the level of academic and cultural exchange.
The scholarships serve to deepen the academic studies at accredited American universities on the level of graduate studies (Master / PhD). The funding relates to study projects lasting four to nine months. Selection criteria are, in addition to good professional achievements, social commitment and the potential to work for transatlantic relations.
About 400 scholarships are awarded annually, including full and partial scholarships for students and graduates, and travel grants. The scholarship provides up to $ 34,500 in financial support for the nine-month study at a graduate school in the US, as well as advice and support from Fulbright Germany and US partners, and inclusion in the global Fulbright network. With a shorter scholarship period (at least four months), a proportionate calculation takes place.
The application deadline for the academic year 2023/2024 is 21 August 2022!
