Dear friends of the Berlin University of the Arts,

Dear supporters of the arts and related sciences, and everyone interested in the foundation,

We are delighted to present to you to the Berlin University of the Arts Foundation, which was founded in 2023. This initiative marks an important step we are taking towards strengthening excellence in the arts and arts-related sciences, and to offer our students even better opportunities for study and research.

The Berlin University of the Arts can be proud of its excellence, its diversity and its international connections. We hope that the foundation will contribute to securing and developing all of this even further together.

For more than 4,000 students, the Berlin University of the Arts offers more than 70 courses, four colleges and three inter-university centres. Research and teaching in all the artistic disciplines and their academic study take place at the highest level.

The Berlin University of the Arts sees itself as a 21st-century educational institution, which learns from its long history, is open to new and experimental directions and is committed to the arts as a unique approach to the world.

The mission of the Berlin University of the Arts Foundation is to promote students, young artists and scholars. Furthermore, we wish to strengthen the ties between teaching and research in the various disciplines. This is also intended to secure and expand innovative opportunities for the city of Berlin that go beyond the boundaries of individual disciplines and have an impact on society.

From scholarships and direct financial support, competitions, festivals and project funding to endowed professorships – there are many possibilities for the foundation’s work.

We’d be happy to present suitable funding formats to you. Talk to us, so that we can shape the future of the arts and academic studies together.

We hope that you decide to make a valuable contribution to strengthen the arts and arts-related sciences in Berlin. Together we can help the next generation of students, artists and scholars on their path to outstanding achievements.

Kind regards,

Prof. Dr. Norbert Palz
President of the Berlin University of the Arts and Chair of the Curatorial Committee of the Berlin University of the Arts Foundation
