Budget Management Unit

The Budget Management Unit is responsible for the planning and execution of the budget. It allocates the funds that the UdK receives from the State of Berlin in accordance with university agreements - as well as other special state funds that do not constitute third-party funding - and handles the processing of invoices. Furthermore, it is responsible for the following areas:

  • Administration of the University of the Arts Foundation and associated trust foundations
  • settlement of study-related and official travel expenses
  • relocation costs
  • insurance matters
  • settlement of self-managed funds
  • asset accounting
  • project funding for student councils
  • reimbursement claims
  • memberships
  • audits conducted by external auditors or the Court of Auditors. In the area of ​​taxation, the group manages the university’s commercial operations and provides guidance on tax-related issues affecting the institution. This includes, among other things, the filing of preliminary VAT returns and the preparation of tax declarations for the UdK Berlin’s commercial operations.
