Climate protection management
Universität der Künste Berlin created the Position of Climate Action Officer in 2021. Since November 2024, Alexander Buschmann has filled this position.
The position is part of a follow-up project to the creation of the comprehensive climate action plan for the UdK Berlin. The first Climate Action Officer, Sebastian Plaga, was tasked with developing a comprehensive climate action plan for UdK Berlin during the initial funding period. In addition to the energy and greenhouse gas footprint, the action plan includes potential analyses, scenario development, and the formulation of measures across a total of 11 different fields of action. It also aims to develop communication, monitoring, and long-term implementation strategies to ensure that climate protection is sustainably embedded and applied at the university.
