Neo Gundermann

Neo Gundermann is a lutenist from Berlin, Germany.

They have completed six years of young studies at both the Hanns Eisler School of Music as well as the Berlin University of the Arts, for which they received the Gerda and Luigi Pradé scholarship.
In 2019 they went on to pursue a bachelor's degree in the classical guitar at the Berlin University of the Arts, studying with Rainer Feldmann and Marco Tamayo.
Since 2021 they have also been studying the lute, theorbo and baroque guitar at the Berlin University of the Arts, with Sam Chapman.
Neo has won a total of 8 first prizes in the competition "Jugend Musiziert" over the course of 4 years, both as a soloist as well as in chamber music combinations.
They have taken part in many masterclasses with guitarists such as Ricardo Gallen, Aniello Desiderio and Adriano del Sal, as well as with lutenists Hopkinson Smith, Elizabeth Kenny and Nigel North.
They have played numerous concerts as a soloist, in ensembles, choirs and with orchestras all over Germany including at major venues such as the Berlin State Opera, the Berliner Philharmonie, as well as the Komische Oper Berlin.
