Evaluation
Ongoing Evaluation through INTER
Evaluation is an integral part of INTER. It is designed as a formative evaluation. This means that results are not merely summarized at the end of a project, instead the entire process is continuously monitored which actively contributes to the project's development. This process links two levels: the evaluation of INTER as a comprehensive program (program evaluation) and the evaluation of the individual initiatives and projects funded within the framework of INTER (project evaluation). The evaluation follows an impact-oriented approach and distinguishes between output, outcome, and impact. It first examines the concrete results of the measures, such as new teaching formats and offerings (output). Building on this, the immediate effects on students and faculty, such as skill development, individualization, and practical relevance (outcome) are examined, as well as the long-term effects on academic programs and institutional structures (impact).
Evaluation of Funded Projects
Receiving funding from INTER means that the project is evaluated by the participants in collaboration with INTER staff, with a particular focus on the quality of the project work, the feasibility of the study, the workflow, and the personal learning gains. The project evaluation combines fixed and flexible elements:
Fixed elements are implemented uniformly across all projects. They are defined at the start of the project and ensure comparability across all projects and funding calls.
Flexible elements are designed by the projects themselves and can also be further developed over time. They take specific needs into account and make the diversity of the projects visible and assessable.
The specific design of the project evaluation and documentation is carried out in close coordination with the projects.
