Workshops & Events (UdK externally)

What: Symposium: "Antiziganism, Racism and Anti-Semitism in Institutions: Challenges for Research and Educational Work"

When: Thursday, June 30, 2022, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m

Where: Prinzenstraße 84.2, 10969 Berlin

Who: Educational Forum Against Antiziganism

Info: NSU and right-wing networks in the security apparatus, recurring reports of racial profiling, derogatory treatment in authorities or pronounced forms of educational inequality: state institutions in Germany have been suspected of institutional racism not only since the international Black Lives Matter protests. But what do we mean when we talk about institutional racism? Is the problem “individual misconduct” within institutions or is it “in the system” itself?

In our symposium we will therefore take a closer - and comparative - look at the effects and manifestations of gajé racism, racism and antisemitism in institutions. Based on the question "What is institutional racism?" we also discuss practical implications and challenges for (political) educational work.

Registration until June 28th. at: berlin@sintiundroma.de
