Astrid Bin is an artist and designer based in Berlin. After her PhD in digital musical instrument research at Queen Mary University of London she worked in academia (Georgia Tech) and industry (Ableton). She was also the founding designer of Bela (Bela.io). Her work has been published extensively and internationally.

She is keenly interested in percussion, both making the instruments (design.astridbin.com) and making music (music.astridbin.com). She continues to make musical interfaces in both hardware and software, augmenting her theoretical practice with real-world artistic research.
