De/constructing a Body
This collection explores the relationship between body and fashion, focusing on the physical formation and deformation of one another. Through historical and contemporary trends, it examines how clothing constructs the feminine body and deviates from the norm, hinting at the rebellion of the body through un-tightened corsets and loose and deformed knit. The research blends historical study with sensory exploration. Inspired by underwear, the designs incorporate adjustable closures and straps to emphasize adaptability and bodily autonomy.
