Papa, I'm Afraid Of Growing Up
This collection emerged from a state of crisis. Like most hard times, it is a chance to grow and change. The concept of growth in this collection is tied to the idea of individuation by Carl Gustav Jung, which emphasizes the exploration of the complex characters that we all possess.
In the Process of creating this collection, I explored memories that shape and form us - the comfortable and the uncomfortable. My Wardrobe and that of my Father's, freely draped, create pieces that feel familiar but at the same time strange. By object dyeing all pieces, I emphasize the wear and tear of growth in all of our lives. It’s messy and irregular.
A sudden insertion of animalistic elements bears the feeling of alienation that we so often feel towards ourselves in times of change.
The message of this collection is to embrace the paradox that lives within us.
