A Single Thread
A Single Thread explores beauty and relevance found in imperfection of existing textiles, weaving together dreams and sensitivity through a collage-like method. Rooted in archival research and a focus on craftsmanship, it joins individual elements in revealing their origins and emotional dimension, with a guiding motif inspired by a single thread dating back to the year 1870. The work challenges notions of flawlessness, embracing escapism and romanticism and reflects on the tension between the urge to mind and the power of acceptance.
By layering vintage and quirky contemporary aesthetics, it creates a unique fashion language celebrating wear and irregularities as meaningful narratives. This approach fosters intimacy and a community around the fascination, promoting a subjectivity grounded in thoughtful consumption and beauty as joy rather than perfection. The project invites viewers to leave space for imagination, emphasizing the privilege of sharing a sensibility that goes beyond the product itself.
