On the second evening concert we are glad to present a quantum music performance by Black Tish (a.k.a. prof. Bob Coecke) featuring composer and pianist Dr. Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin.
Programme:
Doors open at 20:00.
The concert starts at 20:30.
- Musical explanation of parts of Abdyssagin’s book ‘Quantum Mechanics and Avant-Garde Music: Shadows of the Void’ on Grand Piano.
- Demonstration of Coecke’s Quantum Guitar.
- Performance of the piece “Bell”, a musical incarnation of a Bell-pair under measurement on Grand Piano and Quantum Guitar.
Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin, an internationally celebrated concert pianist and composer, is known for his prolific output and deep academic insight. He has been referred to in the media as the "Kazakh Mozart". In 2024 Rakhat-Bi’s book ‘Quantum Mechanics and Avant-Garde Music: Shadows of the Void’ was published by Springer Nature. With over 150 compositions and concerts at top venues worldwide, he now brings his talent to the quantum stage in a unique music performance.
Black Tish, founded in Brussels in the 1980s, are hailed as “...the pioneering industrial band that released their music 35 years late,” and a “missing link” between raw experimentalism and mainstream industrial rock. In 2024, they made headlines performing at Wacken Open Air with quantum-enhanced instrumentation. Being the first one to adopt revolutionary quantum technology in their music on a major stage, the band leader, Bob Coecke, is also a founding shareholder and artist of the first ever quantum music company Moth.
