Contemporary "music-box" platforms use algorithms designed to create an endless tree of playlists. Using machine learning, they recognize social patterns and embed them into the sonic space for better matching. Similarly, the sonic information of an entire song can be encapsulated into a lightweight fingerprint for recognizing copyrighted content even in a tiny audio slice. What if we apply these techniques to the atomic structure of sound? Can we match the elemental pieces of a soundscape to discover a new approach to algorithmic composition? In this course we'll explore these and many other questions using the magic of Python.
