Class for Experimental Film and Media Art

Prof. Nina Fischer

The class “Experimental Film and Media Art” is focused primarily on an experimental approach of the medium film and video. The focus is on the interface of visual art and film. The aim is to develop new formats and experimental methods of presentation, and to find a contemporary approach that addresses current developments in society as well as contemporary philosophical discourses and phenomena.

Students independently develop individual projects, which are discussed in the plenum. In addition, one-on-one supervision and guidance are provided throughout all phases of work – from conception and project development to production, post-production, and the final presentation within an art/film context.
