Film Costume Design
In the sixth Bachelor's semester and in the first Master's semester, courses deal specifically with costume design in the two-dimensional medium of film. Master's students have the opportunity to focus on this and graduate with the Master Film Costume Design.
Costume design is an essential design element in moving images. Artistic positions, design processes and working methods are explored and negotiated in projects; new costume design approaches are formulated in theory and in artistic practice.
Projects are produced with partners from the fields of film, art and media, and networks are formed and strengthened (for example with the UdK Berlin study program of Moving Image, the Visual Communication and Art and Media programs, the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB) and the University of the Arts Bern/Switzerland (HKB), Master Contemporary Arts Practice). Short film, feature film, video art, experimental film, essay film and crossover are all possible formats. The exchange of experiences plays an essential role. Actors from art, media, theory and practice are regularly invited to discuss current topics.
Film and Media Theory
Film and Media Theory is regarded as a dynamic field closely linked to practice. Oriented towards the question of what explicitly interests students.
