“Kollektive Körper – Vernetzte Gesellschaften”: – a Talk with Prof. Dr. Gesa Ziemer in the frame of UdK-Einstein Zirkel "bod-y-motion"
The Einstein-Circle “body – y – motion“ examines possible interactions and potentials of an interplay between artistic experiment and scientific research. The next guest will be Gesa Ziemer, professor for cultural theory and practice and vice president at HafenCity Universität Hamburg.
Gesa Ziemer’s work focuses on urban publics and practice of participation, collective forms of work and artistic research.
At the Berlin University of the Arts, experts from the arts and sciences examine the role of bodily and emotional elements and experiences in research processes as well as in our understanding of knowledge in the framework of the interdisciplinary Einstein-Circle “body – y – motion”. Practicing musician, product designer, sculptor or practicing surgeon, chemist or philosopher – our body is with all his knowledge and senses in action: what space and significance have bodily and emotional aspects in creative and research processes? How is knowledge embodied? Where do emotions directly or indirectly influence working and thinking?
The Einstein-Circle “body-y-motion” is funded by the Einstein Stiftung Berlin.
The event language is German.
