Work Experience Abroad with PROMOS

Sponsorship of practical work experience by PROMOS

If you are planning work experience in a country that does not belong to the ERASMUS+ region or more than 10 months have already been sponsored by ERASMUS/ERASMUS+ during your current phase of study, you can apply for a PROMOS grant.

The PROMOS programme is financed with funds from the Federal Ministry for Education and Research, which are allotted to universities by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The universities then award grants in accordance with the DAAD and BMBF guidelines.

More information about the PROMOS programme can be found here.

What can be funded

Periods of practical experience between 6 weeks and 6 months can be funded, unless they are at any of the following institutions:

International organizations (e. g. of the UNO), EU institutions, institutions and organizations that realize EU programmes, representations of Germany abroad, German institutes of the humanities (http://www.stiftung-dgia.de/institute.html), Goethe Institutes, the German Archaeological Institute, and German schools abroad
