Gustav Mahler: Symphony No. 6 in A minor Symphony Orchestra of the UdK Berlin Conductor: Steven Sloane
The Berlin University of the Arts is one of the most internationally diverse universities in the city. From 2001 to 2021, this was celebrated every fall with the Concert for the Nations of the Symphony Orchestra of the UdK Berlin, in which more than 25 nations play together. Since 2022, the symphony orchestra has played the concert at the Philharmonie Berlin. The 2022 concert was held in memory of Yuri Kerpatenko, the chief conductor of the Kherson Philharmonic, who was murdered by Russian soldiers. This year, the orchestra is once again a guest at the Berlin Philharmonie, offering the audience another highlight of the Mahler cycle with Mahler's Sixth Symphony in A minor. Steven Sloane is conductor and artistic director of the orchestra and has held a professorship in conducting at the UdK Berlin since 2013.
