Working with Sound & Artificial Intelligence

In the workshop we will talk about the possibilities of making music and performances with artificial intelligence. After an introduction to existing sound tools of machine learning, we start building our own sound libraries. We record sounds and work on them in audio editing programs to create "datasets", as the sound libraries are called in the context of machine learning. The datasets then form the basis for various, novel sound experiments. Neural networks "learn" sounds and reproduce them in a modified way. We enter unusual, familiar and alien worlds of sound. During the three days we will develop concepts for small sound pieces and performances based on the generated AI sounds. Bring along, if possible: laptop and headphones.
