Book Launch “We Can No Longer Philosophize in Words as We Had Before, We Must try it With Images” – Präsentation

Baruch Gottlieb

Join us for the launch of a new book of essays on philosopher of communication and technology, Vilém Flusser, “We Can No Longer Philosophize in Words as We Had Before, We Must try it With Images” exploring the limits of rational linearity and the power of synthetic and technical images.

Initiated during the Flusser centennial year 2020 as part of a DAAD Winterschool held online due to the pandemic, this project brings together 5 Flusser scholars with backgrounds in film, photography, performance and media studies. The authors apply Flusser’s provocative utopian theories of telematic gestures, and new forms of technological thinking to the hypermodern condition. The book is published by Dutch contemporary art institution West Den Haag.

The launch and discussion with the authors will take place at the Vilém Flusser Archive, in Room 208, 2nd floor.
