In der Ausstellung "Saints, Sinners & Family Dinners" servieren wir, Studierende und Auserwählte von Prof. Thomas Zipp (UdK), euch mehr als nur brotlose Kunst. Zwischen Malerei, Zeichnungen, Skulpturen, Fotografie, Installationen, Live-Performances und Filmen stellen wir uns die Frage: Ist das hier eine Kunstmesse – oder ein Glaubenskrieg? Ein ironischer Balanceakt mit Symbolen – oder doch eine ernsthafte Auseinandersetzung mit der Frage, was uns formt? Von klein auf lernen wir schließlich von Eltern und anderen Gottesfiguren, was wir glauben sollen und was nicht.  Und dann merken wir, dass Autoritäten nicht unfehlbar sind. Eines steht jedenfalls fest: Glaube ist viel, aber auf keinen Fall statisch. Und wir sind vielleicht nicht in der Hölle von Dante, aber sind wir auf dem Weg dahin? Wir begrüßen euch mit offenen Amen im Gewölbekeller in der alten Königstadtbrauerei  am Senefelder Platz.
„Religion ist das Opium des Volkes“, hieß es früher - vielleicht ist das jetzt die Rolle der Kunst? Ihr habt die Wahl: Brotlose Kunst oder Beißen, Kauen, Schlucken und Verdauen...

In the exhibition ‘Saints, Sinners & Family Dinners’ we, students and chosen ones of Prof Thomas Zipp (UdK), serve you more than just brotlose Kunst. Between paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, installations, live performances and films, we ask ourselves the question: Is this an art fair - or a religious war? An ironic balancing act with symbols - or a serious examination of the question of what shapes us? After all, from an early age we learn from parents and other god figures what we should and should not believe.  And then we realise that authorities are not infallible. In any case, one thing is certain: faith is many things, but it is by no means static. And we may not be in Dante's hell, but are we on our way there? We welcome you with open arms to the vaulted cellar in the old Königstadtbrauerei on Senefelder Platz.
