It Must All Be Done In Darkness...
It Must All Be Done In Darkness... is an intimate and immersive experience centered on Harriet Jacobs. A writer, abolitionist, and survivor, Jacobs spent seven years in isolation before escaping to Massachusetts and earning her freedom. Through film, movement, audience participation, and music, this world premiere opera celebrates Jacobs and her story of perseverance. A story that begs for us to learn, grow, and heal.
