We, Steady Movement Under the Surface
We is the hum, which started as a small disturbance in the air
Now, vibrates the earth beneath your feet
Rattling your bones
A movement,
Underground,
Unbound.
Through low-frequency and haptic sound, We, A Steady Movement Under The Surface attempts to open up the listening space to bodies commonly left out – to invite in new perspectives, encounters and ways of being together. This piece emerges from MINQ’s theoretical work on Collective Performance and Accessible Sound Arts Praxis. Rooted in Black speculative methodology and Black fugitivity, the work assists in deconstructing the “master’s house," or the White-supremacist, patriarchal, genocidal systems of power and oppression that shape our world.
