Antisemitism
The Berlin University of the Arts actively opposes discrimination and antisemitism. In light of the sharp rise in antisemitistic incidents since October 7, 2023, the university is promoting awareness of the origins and current manifestations of antisemitism. The Berlin University of the Arts is taking both awareness-raising and event-related measures.

AStA
The General Student Committee (AStA) is the executive body of the student body and thus represents the interests of students vis-à-vis the university management and administration as well as the committees and faculties.
Archiv
The Berlin University of the Arts Archive preserves and catalogs the archival material of the university and its predecessor educational institutions in order to make it accessible for present and future use.
Berlin Career College
Berlin Career College offers continuing education in the inspiring environment of Berlin University of the Arts and has a range of university courses in the artistic and creative fields that is unique in Germany.
Design Research Lab
The Design Research Lab conducts interdisciplinary design research projects. From the outset, the aim has been to build bridges between technological innovations and the real-life needs of people in their everyday lives. These needs vary greatly: from older people and teenagers, women and men, families and singles, people with different disabilities and abilities.
designtransfer
designtransfer initiates, coordinates, and moderates an exchange between the degree programs—architecture, product and fashion design, social and business communication, visual communication, and art and media—and the business world, as well as national and international cultural institutions, design studios, and universities.
Diversity, Empowerment & Intersectional Anti-Discrimination
The Diversity, Empowerment & Intersectional Anti-Discrimination Office is happy to advise and support you on issues relating to critical diversity, empowerment, and intersectional anti-discrimination, racist (and other forms of) discrimination and violence, and racism- and discrimination-sensitive behavior and speech.
Women’s and Equal Opportunities Officer
The Women's and Equal Opportunities Officers at Berlin University of the Arts are committed to gender equality in a variety of ways.
Student councils
The students of a degree program form a student council and elect a representative body, the Fachschaftsrat (FSR). They advise on issues relating to studies, teaching, and examinations. They also act as mediators between professors, students, and the committees of the UdK, especially those of the faculty. A special task of the FSR is to support first-year students. The association of all FSRs is the Student Council Conference (FSRK). Just like the FSR, it can also provide financial support for your student projects.
The Inter-University Center for Dance Berlin (HTZ)
The Inter-University Center for Dance Berlin (HZT) is a locally and internationally oriented study and research center for creative and critical engagement with dance, choreography, body-based practices, and performance.
Hybrid Plattform
The Hybrid Platform is a joint project platform of the Berlin University of the Arts and the Technical University of Berlin within the framework of the Charlottenburg Campus. It serves to promote interdisciplinary exchange between the arts, science, and technology.

Jazz Institute Berlin (JIB)
The Jazz Institute Berlin (JIB) is a joint institute of the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music Berlin and the Berlin University of the Arts. With its international appeal, the JIB is one of the most renowned jazz education institutions in Europe.
KBB Musik
The Artistic Operations Office / Orchestra Office is a service facility for students and teachers of artistic education at the Faculty of Music and is responsible for the following tasks, among others: organizing concerts, competitions, and other faculty events; organizing all orchestra activities (assignments, certificates, sheet music distribution, etc.); public relations for faculty events; coordinating various scholarship programs; arranging performance opportunities within and outside the Berlin University of the Arts.
Klasse Klima
Klasse Klima is an open, autonomous, and transdisciplinary collective that communicates the climate crisis and its dimensions of justice in education and creative practice. Since 2019, Klasse Klima has been advocating for change in education and organizing seminars at art colleges. It also organizes workshops, residencies, and exhibitions for creative practitioners and enthusiasts.
Planetary Studies
The “Planetary Studies” project has just been launched—a pilot project conceived by Klasse Klima and funded by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education to promote the long-term integration of applied climate education at art colleges. The project aims to integrate practice-oriented climate education at art colleges in the long term. The project, which has been running since April 2024, will offer two seminars and a lecture series over three semesters starting in the 2024/25 winter semester. The Studium Planetare seminar and lecture series are part of the Studium Generale program at the Berlin University of the Arts. The events are open to everyone.
Presse / Kommunikation
The Press/Communications Office is responsible for the central social media channels of the Berlin University of the Arts on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. It publishes the journal, the university magazine of the Berlin University of the Arts, four times a year. The publication reflects on topics and discourses at one of Europe's largest art universities in words and images: conversations with teachers, studio and workshop visits, essays, and interviews.
Student Advisory Service / Psychological services
The Student Advisory Service advises prospective students and current students on all questions and problems relating to their studies.
This may include uncertainty about choosing the right degree program, changing degree programs or universities, assistance with decision-making, questions about the artistic admission process, or difficulties orienting oneself at the beginning of or during one's studies. If mental health issues are affecting their studies at the UdK, students can contact the UdK's psychological service.
Studium Generale
The Studium Generale is not a separate degree program. It is a basic program in cultural studies and interdisciplinary arts at the Berlin University of the Arts and an integral part of the bachelor's and graduate degree programs (with the exception of teacher training programs).
UdK:shop
The UdK:shop offers a wide range of products: from high-quality catalogs and artwork to award-winning coffee-to-go cups and limited editions of works by UdK Berlin students.
UdK2030
The UdK2030 initiative is made up of many people from across all faculties at Berlin University of the Arts. The first Future Day was launched in 2018 by members of the UdK Berlin and was organized and designed by committed UdK members from all disciplines and status groups.
UNI.T - Theater of the Berlin University of Arts
UNI.T – the theater of the Berlin University of the Arts – is not like other theaters in Berlin. It is the venue of an institution that focuses on training students for various theater professions. The performing arts faculty offers courses for aspiring actors, opera, song, and concert singers, musical performers, stage designers, costume designers, theater educators, and authors.
The University Library
The University Library, a special library for the arts, serves the purposes of study and teaching, artistic work, and research at the Berlin University of the Arts.
750,000 media items from the fields of art, architecture, music, dance, theater, design, film, and communication can be researched via the arts knowledge portal.
The university library's holdings are located on the 4th floor at Fasanenstraße 88 in the building shared with the TU Berlin University Library.
Center for Artistic Teacher Training
The Center for Artistic Teacher Training (zfkl) supports the Permanent Joint Commission in an organizational and content-related capacity in the performance of its tasks. These include networking, coordination, and development of artistic teacher training. The zfkl office also organizes and coordinates the practical semester in cooperation with representatives of the three other teacher training universities in Berlin and the two responsible senate administrations.
