Frauen*Wohnen
Frauen*Wohnen brings together twelve housing projects in Berlin developed by and for women*, asking how housing changes when neither its designers nor its residents are assumed to fit conventional norms. Rather than centering the nuclear family or a universal idea of "good" design, these projects respond to the realities of groups often overlooked in housing design. Developed through research conducted by students in the summer of 2026, the publication combines architectural analysis with site visits and conversations with residents, connecting spatial design to everyday experience. Spanning different periods of Berlin's housing history, it builds on existing research into women-led housing while offering a snapshot of feminist approaches already shaping the city, with the aim of making these often-overlooked practices more visible and opening up new conversations about inclusive ways of living.
