When reality appears in fragments, images flicker and memories become unstable, where does a world begin? Frames, pixels, point clouds, signals, scanned objects, sounds and data occupy different states of visibility, duration and materiality. Considering how these discrete elements remain independent, connect temporarily and reassemble, other realities might begin to take form. A broken scan may unfold into a landscape, a particle may carry the trace of a memory, an absent object may persist through its sound, fragments taken from physical surroundings may return as something no longer bound to their original place or time.
In this course, we will use Unity as the main creative framework to develop personal narratives and visual languages between the real and the synthetic, the remembered and the simulated. In the first three and a half days, we’ll engage in in depth art case studies and hands on work, including 3D scanning, AI generating & simulation, advanced particle systems, and 3D soundscapes in Unity, to integrate personal aesthetic experience gradually. On the last day of the course, students will present their Final Projects/Processes.
