Study programs BA/MA

Bachelor

The three-year bachelor's programme COSTUME CONSTRUCTION provides artistic, theoretical and technical knowledge for designing costumes. The programme accompanies and promotes artistic processes and qualifies students for theatre, film and crossover formats. The content of the bachelor's programme can be deepened in the subsequent master's programme KOSTÜMBILD.

The programme is divided into three main areas: Design/Project Development, Theory (Artistic Conception/Dramatography, Cultural History of Clothing, Film and Media Theory) and Techniques (analogue/digital Drawing, Experimental Design, Textile Production Techniques, Mask Workshops, Lecture Series, Field Trips).

Master

In the two-year consecutive master's program in COSTUME DESIGN, students intensify their examination of the profession in theory and practice for further qualification. Formats such as theater, film, performance, installations and video are covered in practical artistic projects and artistic research is trained. Beginning in the second semester, students have the opportunity to shape their studies independently through elective courses.
